Spring cleaning tips

Prepare your house for spring

Spring is the perfect time to renovate your house and make it shine! With more pleasant weather and longer days, it’s the ideal time to do that deep cleaning your house deserves.

Where to start?

Start by making a plan. Divide your house into areas and establish priorities. Don’t try to do everything at once – spring cleaning can be done over a few weeks.

1. Organize and discard

Before cleaning, organize! Separate items you no longer use and donate or discard them properly. A house with fewer objects is much easier to keep clean and organized.

2. Clean from top to bottom

Always start cleaning the highest areas (ceilings, light fixtures, top of cabinets) and work your way down to the floor. This way, the dirt that falls during cleaning will be removed at the end.

3. Windows and curtains

Wash the windows inside and outside to take better advantage of spring’s natural light. Wash or have the curtains cleaned, and don’t forget the tracks and blinds.

4. Appliances

Pay special attention to appliances. Clean the refrigerator inside and behind, the oven, the microwave and the washing machine. These devices work better when they are clean.

5. Cabinets and drawers

Empty cabinets and drawers, clean the inside and reorganize. Take the opportunity to check product expiration dates and discard what is no longer useful.

Natural cleaning products

Consider using natural products such as white vinegar, baking soda and lemon. They are effective, economical and less aggressive to the environment.

Homemade all-purpose cleaner recipe:

  • 1 cup of white vinegar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 10 drops of essential oil (optional, for fragrance)

Mix everything in a spray bottle and use on various surfaces!

Extra tips for efficient cleaning

  • Make a list: Write down all the tasks so you don’t forget anything
  • Gather the materials: Have all the products and tools on hand before you start
  • Play music: Make the task more enjoyable with your favorite songs
  • Ask for help: Involve the family – cleaning becomes faster and more fun
  • Take breaks: Don’t exhaust yourself! Rest when necessary

Maintenance after cleaning

After all the work, keep your house organized with small daily routines. A few minutes a day prevent dirt from accumulating again.

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be a scary task. With planning and dedication, you will have a renovated house ready to enjoy the most flowery season of the year!
